It was a mix of pure muscle and make-up at the annual Body Building SA National Championships at the SAX Arena in Centurion. Toned athletes took to the stage to flex for fame and compete for the top spot as having the best physique or fittest-looking body in the country earlier this month. These competitors stood
a chance to be selected to represent SA in one of four IFBB World Championships this year.
The categories include Beach Bikini, Fitness Bikini, Masters, Wheelchair, Heavyweight, and Superheavyweight (over 100kg).
The overall winners at the event in Centurion were Louis Bessinger (Junior), Michelle Guest (Ladies’ Body Fitness), Michael du Buisson (Masters), and Heinrich Vos (Men’s).
